We need your feedback on the Scheme
posted: 26/11/2009
The North Staffordshire Landlord Accreditation Scheme is being evaluated by researchers from Sheffield Hallam Universitys Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR).
In 2003, Stoke-on-Trent City Council set up the Landlord Accreditation Scheme in partnership with the North Staffordshire Landlord Association to improve quality and choice in the private rented housing sector. In 2007 the scheme expanded to include the neighbouring local authorities of Staffordshire Moorlands, Stafford and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
This independent evaluation will review the impact of the scheme and explore ways in which it can be improved for the benefit of landlords, tenants and the local authorities.
Landlords in North Staffordshire will have the opportunity to have their say by taking part in a survey and attending several workshop events. The research team is hoping to hear from members and non-members of the Landlord Accreditation Scheme. The survey will be posted to landlords in November 2009 and will also be available via this website. The research team will ensure that Landlords can make their views known with anonymity and confidentiality.
The evaluation will also include a survey of tenants living in private rented accommodation, interviews with key organisations and analysis of key statistics.
The research is underway now, and will finish in February 2010.
A forcus group for landlords will take place prior to the North Staffs Landlord Meeting on 3rd Decmber 2009, between 6pm and 7pm.
